This feature allows newly onboarded ampsuite clients to import their back catalog from Beatport into their portal. This automates a majority of the catalog upload process needed for new clients just starting with ampsuite.
Label Approval
First, your labels must be approved for back catalog by an ampsuite admin. As part of your onboarding process ampsuite will verify that the ownership of your back catalog may be transferred. Once verified, an ampsuite admin will approve each label for back catalog transfer, which will allow the Beatport Back Catalog Transfer button to be accessed.
Once approved, please follow the steps below:
Label Selection
Back catalog transfers are done on a per label basis. To navigate to the feature press Releases > Releases > Label > [select an approved label] > Beatport Back Catalog
When a label has been approved for transfer, a banner will appear at the top of the portal which will navigate to the releases tab if clicked. An email will also be delivered to notify that a label has been approved for transfer.
If the button is not viewable, please verify with ampsuite that the label as been approved for transfer.
Back Catalog Transfer Options
Upon clicking Beatport Back Catalog, a window will open with some options to fill out additional fields. This will allow you to apply these fields to all of the releases being imported.
- When clicking into each field, help text will appear to help the user determine what to enter and what will happen if they decide to leave the field blank.
- Contract details are also optional to include.
- Selecting to include feature artists: Featured artists will be treated as additional main artists in the split calculation
- Selecting to include remixer artists: Remixer artists specified percentage will be deducted from the main artist percentage
- Example: 2 main artists + 1 featured with the artist % at 50% = 16.66% each, where as 2 main artists + 1 remixer with artist % at 50% and remixer at 25% = main artists @ 12.5% each and remixer at 25%.
Back Catalog Transfer Progress
Upon clicking Initiate, the transfer process will begin. Once the transfer has completed, a banner will appear at the top of the portal to indicate the transfer as completed. An email will also be delivered to notify of completion.
After Back Catalog Transfer
All releases will be imported as drafts. Each draft will need to be reviewed for missing data or files. Any missing data or files are due to Beatport not possessing the information, therefore there was no information to import.
Once a draft release has been reviewed and all required fields are filled out, the release is ready to be sent to stores (if desired).
