Quick Contract Method
*Note this section is a guide to the recommended method for assigning contracts within ampsuite. For more information on Contracts in general please refer to the full "Contracts" section of the help guide here.
The “Quick Contract” method is the easiest and most straightforward way to ensure you are assigning contracts correctly in your ampsuite system. As such, we recommend it be the standard method of contracting for the majority of users, in particular those less familiar with ampsuite.
Quick contracts can be assigned at track level on any release in your system and will automatically pull the relevant track metadata into the contract, as well as assigning them for accounting purposes in your system.
*Note if you are assigning a contract for a track/release that is not already in your system, please refer to the full "Contracts" section of the help guide here for alternative methods.
You can also assign your desired percentages per licensor/per track.
To assign contracts via the Quick Contract Method see below:
To assign a quick contract:
- At track level in the release select the contracts tab:
- Select your Licensor(/Artist) from the drop down menu:
- Select “Create Quick Contract” (The licensor must have an email address added in their licensor details, if no email is present you will be taken to the licensor details page where you can enter the email & then you must ‘Save Licensor’):
- Select whichever contract template you would like to use, this pulls in the text from that default template & applies the cross collateralisation / reserve settings from the default template.
*Please note - the actual percentage payable to each licensor will be set in the next step & the percentage you set will then appear next to the track name at the top of the licensor contract issued, for each licensor (as such we recommend setting up a contract template body text that refers to “royalties payable are indicated at the top of the agreement” rather than describing specific percentages within any royalty section of your agreement text)*
- Finally enter the desired percentages each artist/licensor associated to that track should get in royalties (Eg. for 1 artist you may just write 50 in the royalty box, if there are two artists to be associated to the track then you may write 25 for each etc.):
- You can add additional licensors by clicking the ‘Add Licensor’ button on the left, and then follow the same process above. Once you have done this for all licensors on a track you should click the ‘Update Track’ button:
- Once this process has been completed for each track within a release you can then navigate to the “Contracts” within the main release menu & click the ‘email to licensors’ button there to send the contracts to your licensors:
*Note once any of the licensor contracts set up using the quick contract method have been signed by the recipient, the quick contracting option is then locked off for that release, so please ensure you have all agreements set up for all licensors before clicking the ‘send to licensors’ option
